“To seek and honor the namesake of our County through charity.”

The Krewe of Hillsborough was founded by a group of friends in 1998.

We took our name from the Earl of Hillsborough, Wills Hill, for whom our County was named after.

By perpetuating the name we honor the rich history of our County and State.

Our costumes are based on Mid-18th century Lords and Ladies. Our float is reminiscent of a waterfront wharf of the 1800’s. In that century maritime shipping was the only source of transportation and trade between England and the Americas. The float theme commemorates maritime shipping as well as those that sailed and worked on these ships..
